Abstract

BACKGROUND: Fibroepithelial polyps are benign soft tissue growths frequently found on the skin and mucosal surfaces. They can occur in various areas of the body, but their appearance on the vulva is relatively common. Although most are small to medium-sized, in rare cases they can grow considerably, known as a giant vulvar fibroepithelial polyp. This type of lesion, although not malignant, can cause significant symptoms, such as pain, discomfort, bleeding, and even emotional difficulties due to its impact on aesthetics and functionality. Recognizing and properly treating these large polyps is essential to improving patients' quality of life, which requires an accurate diagnosis and a well-structured treatment plan. Clinical Case: A 40-year-old woman presented with a lump on her vulva that had been steadily growing over the past six months. The lesion was characterized as a protruding mass with a pedicle and a smooth texture, lacking the usual morphological characteristics of a condyloma acuminata. During the clinical history, the patient stated that she had no associated symptoms such as pain, itching, bleeding, or discomfort during sexual intercourse. Conclusion: This case demonstrates the clinical presentation of a giant fibroepithelial polyp on the vulva, a benign condition that, although uncommon, should be included in the differential diagnosis of rapidly growing vulvar lesions. Surgery with total excision is curative, and the prognosis is very positive. Histopathological analysis is essential to validate the diagnosis and rule out any signs of malignancy.
