Abstract

Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a rare but potentially serious condition that can occur after obstetric events. We describe the case of a 25-year-old primigravida who presented with a pregnancy that ended in anembryonic pregnancy and subsequently experienced persistent uterine bleeding for more than two weeks. She opted for a private ultrasound, which revealed a heterogeneous cystic area with significant vascularity on color Doppler. Doppler ultrasound evaluation revealed a hypervascular lesion consistent with an AVM. Diagnostic ultrasound was performed, followed by conservative management with clinical follow-up. The patient recovered favorably without requiring surgical intervention. This case highlights the importance of timely diagnosis and the use of minimally invasive techniques in the management of post-gestational AVMs.
